Every Dancer Has a Story.
This is ours.
Why We Started Alignment
Brittni
A little dancer who would one day help change dance culture.
Morgan
A little dancer with big dreams.
Once upon a time, we were the little dancers waiting backstage, tying our shoes, chasing big dreams, and falling in love with dance.
We know firsthand the joy, discipline, friendships, and confidence that dance can build. We also know the pressure to be perfect, the comparisons, the self-doubt, and the moments that quietly shape the way we see ourselves.
As we grew up, dance remained part of our story—but so did another calling.
We each became therapists.
Through our work, we discovered something we wished we'd learned much earlier: mental health isn't separate from performance. Confidence, resilience, emotional awareness, self-worth, and healthy coping aren't just life skills—they're dance skills, too.
When we met, we realized we shared the same vision.
We wanted to help create the kind of dance culture we both needed growing up. One where dancers are seen as whole people, parents feel supported, teachers are equipped, and mental well-being is valued just as much as technique.
That's why we created Alignment.
Today, everything we do—from workshops and education to journals and card collections—is rooted in one belief:
When we support the whole dancer, we create healthier dancers, healthier studios, and a healthier dance community.
"We're not just therapists who love dance—we're dancers who understand the power of supporting the whole person."
The Values That Guide Our Work
At Alignment, we believe dance is about so much more than technique.
It's about helping people discover confidence, resilience, connection, and joy that lasts far beyond the studio.
Everything we create is guided by five core values that shape the way we teach, support, and serve the dance community.
Health
Mental health is health. We believe dancers thrive when their emotional well-being is valued alongside their physical training.
Awareness
Awareness is the first step toward growth. When we better understand ourselves, we can respond with greater confidence, compassion, and intention.
Safety
Growth happens when people feel safe to learn, make mistakes, ask questions, and be themselves.
Education
Knowledge creates change. We believe providing practical mental health education helps dancers, parents, and teachers build healthier habits that last a lifetime.
Joy
Dance should be a place where people feel challenged, supported, and inspired. We believe protecting the joy of dance is just as important as developing technical excellence.
These values aren't just part of our mission.
They're the foundation behind every workshop we teach, every resource we create, and every conversation we have.
More Than Dance Educators.
More Than Therapists.
Before Alignment, we each spent years experiencing dance from every angle.
As dancers, we learned discipline, creativity, perseverance, and the joy of performing.
As dance educators, we discovered the privilege and responsibility of shaping not only skilled dancers, but confident and resilient people.
As therapists, we gained the tools to better understand the emotional experiences that often accompany the dance journey—from perfectionism and performance anxiety to confidence, identity, and resilience.
Today, Alignment brings those experiences together.
Our work lives at the intersection of dance and mental health, helping dancers, parents, teachers, and studios build healthier relationships with themselves, with one another, and with dance.
Dance Experience
We understand the dancer's journey because we've lived it.
Dance Education
Years of teaching have shaped how we support healthy growth.
Mental Health Expertise
Our clinical training helps us bring evidence-based support to the dance community.
Meet Morgan & Brittni
Helping create a healthier dance community—one conversation, one classroom, and one dancer at a time.
Morgan
"Creating healthier dance environments is why I do this work."During my first ten years as a dance teacher, I kept running into situations I did not feel equipped to handle. I cared deeply about my dancers, but I knew something was missing.
In 2017, I began studying Marriage and Family Therapy. What I learned about mental health transformed the way I taught, connected with dancers, and understood the role educators play in creating healthy dance experiences.
Today, I combine my experience as a dancer, educator, and therapist to help dancers feel supported both on and off the stage. My hope is that Alignment helps you navigate the dance world with greater confidence, resilience, and joy.
Brittni
"When dancers feel seen, they begin to believe in themselves."My relationship with dance changed for the better when I began caring for myself as a whole person—not only as a dancer. That experience reshaped the way I understood training, success, and well-being.
After earning my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I became a more intentional educator. I learned to manage stress, build stronger relationships, and create spaces where dancers could feel seen, supported, and safe to grow.
Today, I bring that perspective to Alignment so dancers, parents, and educators have practical tools for healthier dance experiences. I believe supporting the whole person creates greater confidence, joy, longevity, and fulfillment.
If I Could Tell My Younger Self...
→ Slow down.
→ Rest isn't weakness.
→ You're already enough.
→ Stop comparing.
→ The things that make you different will one day become your greatest strengths.
A Note From Us
Hi there,
If you've made it this far, thank you. Whether you're a dancer, a parent, a teacher, or someone who simply loves the dance community, we're really glad you're here.
Alignment wasn't created because we thought we had all the answers. It was created because we've lived this too.
We know the excitement of performing, the nerves before stepping on stage, the friendships that become family, and the moments when dance feels like home.
We also know the pressure, the comparison, the self-doubt, and how easy it can be to forget that your worth has never depended on a score or a title.
Our hope has never been to change dance overnight.
Our hope is simply to help create a healthier dance community—one conversation, one classroom, one family, and one dancer at a time.
If something you've read here reminds you to show yourself a little more grace, encourages a conversation you've been meaning to have, or helps you see dance a little differently, then Alignment is doing exactly what we hoped it would do.
Thank you for being here.
We're grateful our paths crossed.
With gratitude,
Morgan & Brittni
